Who we are

Westside Foot & Ankle Specialists is a full service foot and ankle clinic. All four of our surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. They have advanced training in trauma, ankle replacements and external fixation. We understand that every patient is unique and strive to provide the full compliment of conservative and surgical foot and ankle care. To ensure that we meet the needs of all of our patients, our team consists of a full service physical therapy department. In addition we have a registered nurse (RN) with special certification in foot care.

Meet the surgeons

  • Jason R. Surratt, DPM
    Board Certified in Foot Surgery

    Dr. Surratt graduated with honors from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a comprehensive Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency Program at the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals in Portland, Oregon.

    Dr. Surratt is a member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association. He serves as the Ambassador for the American Podiatric Medical Association's Political Action Committee. Dr. Surratt is committed to continuing training and education through participation in various educational seminars and meetings. He is an attending surgeon for the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals Podiatry Surgical Residency Program.

    Clinical areas of interest include all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine and podiatric medicine.

    Dr. Surratt is married with 2 children. He is an avid cyclist, runner, outdoorsman and is learning to bowhunt.


  • Thomas C. Melillo, DPM
    Board Certified in Foot Surgery, Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery

    Dr. Melillo graduated with honors from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a comprehensive Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency program at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, CA.

    Dr. Melillo is active in the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is the current President of the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Melillo is dedicated to continuing his medical training through various educational seminars. Dr. Melillo is an attending surgeon for the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals Podiatric Surgical Residency Program.

    Clinical areas of interest include all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, podiatric medicine and pediatrics.

    Dr Melillo is married with 3 children. He is our resident wine enthusiast. He enjoys music, reading, cycling, physical fitness and food.


  • Michael A. Gentile, DPM
    Board Certified in Foot Surgery, Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery

    Dr. Gentile graduated with honors from the California School of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. He completed a three year residency in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery at HealthOne Presbyterian/St.Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

    Dr. Gentile is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Oregon Podiatric Medical Association, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is the Director of Research and an attending surgeon for the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals Podiatry Surgical Residency Program. He is dedicated to continuing his medical training and advancing the knowledge of his peers through various educational seminars and workshops.

    Clinical areas of interest include all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine and podiatric medicine. He takes a particular interest in the ankle and revisional foot and ankle surgery.

    Dr. Gentile is married with 2 children. He is a self confessed "foodie". He is passionate about literature, music, useless pop culture, yoga and hiking.


  • Yama A. Dehqanzada, DPM
    Board Certified in Foot Surgery

    Dr. Dehqanzada graduated with honors from the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a comprehensive Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residence Program at the Legacy Health Systems and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in Portland, OR.

    Dr. Dehqanzada is a member of the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association as well as the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is committed to continuing training and education through participation in various educational seminars and meetings. He is an attending surgeon for the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospitals Podiatric Surgical Residency Program.

    Clinical areas of interest include all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine and podiatric medicine.

    Dr. Dehqanzada is married with 2 children. He is passionate about exploring the Pacific Northwest's backroads with his family. He enjoys photography and audiobooks.
